Though extremely rare for Texas waters. Billfishermen trolling far offshore have come
across some of these fast moving members of the Jack family on occasion.. With bluish

rainbow runners. It is sleak and aerodynamic is body design unlike it close cousins. A
tropical species by nature it does occasional get lost and find it's way into our water
but far offshore so just barely. Diet consist of small fish and crustaceans. Best bets for
hook up with one of these visitors to Texas water will be in the warmest of months.
Average weight is 5 to 10 pounds, but can grow up to 4 feet..Well known for it's fighting
style and not bad on the old dinner plate. Texas anglers should consider themselves
fortunate when they cross paths with this particular game fish species...
