Also known to anglers as SkipJacks or tenpounders the Ladyfish belongs to the family of
Tarpon. Something they also have in common with their cousins the Tarpon is their fighting
styles once they are hook. Which is where the derive their nicknames skipjack for the
leaping abilities on the end of the line. Found in a pass, bay, or surf near you,
ladyfish are a great catch especially on lighter tackle. Ladyfish or voracious predators
and feed on schools of shrimp and baitfish but will also hit the occasional artificial
baits such as spoons or topwaters. This species of fish is stronger than it's size would
suggest, but is not particularly sought after for it palletabilty more for it fighting
ability.
